"Working with Postcard Theatre has been nothing short of extraordinary. Not only are they committed to telling the story on the page; they’re also whip-smart in everything they do." - Juan C. Sanchez, Playwright, A Grey Divide
"As a young person in the industry, Postcard Theatre have taught me some extremely valuable things that I carry with me. The have especially made me appreciate how much detail is needed in a production to make it great" -
Jade Haslam, Production Assistant, Children of Cain & A Grey Divide
NO PROJECT. NO PAYMENTS. NO POINT.
Our intention is to create our own positive pockets of creativity within this difficult time.
The idea is to connect people and revel in the glory of scripts and stories. Meet new creatives online, read and discuss a selection of text for no other reason than the fun of it and love for text.
We are completely open to all castings. Gender, Age, Ethnicity, anything goes for all characters. This is a play reading for enjoyment and collaboration, put yourself forward to anything, no restrictions.
We plan on reading:
Closer by Patrick Marber
RACE by David mamet
Mojo by Jez Butterworth
Asking for it by louise o'neill
Growth by Luke Norris
Closed for interest
POSH by laura Wade - Sat 1st August, 10.30am
Osama the hero by Dennis Kelly - Sat 1st August, 2pm
Bull by Mike Bartlett, Fri 7th August, 2pm
STILL AVAILABLE TO REGISTER
Chamber piece by Caroline Bird, Fri 7th August, 10.30am
Should we receive a lot of interest, we will increase the number of play readings we host. Information will be made available about these if it becomes relevant.
Unfortunately, we can't provide scripts and don't have digital copies, so involvement would be dependant on each individual obtaining a copy of the text.
All play readings are done purely for the fun of the read, without an audience and in agreement with the literary agents or license holders of the playwrights and their work.
To register your interest in any of the play readings, click below and fill out our registration form.
